Big Pit: National Mining Museum of Wales in Blaenovon, Wales was a working coal mine from 1860 to 1980 and was the first shaft in Wales big enough for two tramways, hence the name "Big Pit". It opened as a museum in 1983. Thanks to Dave of Wales, United Kingdom.
