I have visited the Forbidden City of Beijing - now the National Palace Museum a few times. Bought this special commemorative postcard when I was there for the Summer 2008 Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony. Cancelled the special 8.8.08 which is the date of the opening ceremony at the Beijing post office near Tiananmen Square.

Imperial throne where the Emperor of China sat in the Forbidden City of Beijing - now called the Palace Museum. I have seen this throne several times during my Beijing visit and always impressed by the splendour and symbolism of each of the artefacts around the throne. Thanks to Chang of China for sending this postcard.
