An automated tin dredging boat was once a common sight in Perak. I mailed this postcard from Taiping which was a major tin mining town in Perak.

Open cast tin mining with the use of wooden structure called Palong, using gravity to separate the tin ores from soil sprayed down using water jets from the mine.
